Conveniently situated off Avondale Road just a few minutes from WA-520 and I-405, Smokey Wood offers hunter/jumper and dressage lessons and training as well as gorgeous areas for weddings and parties.
Smokey Wood is owned and operated by Stacey & Joe DiNuzzo. Stacey is a life-long equestrian who took her first ride at age 2. She competed in 4-H Western events until college when she took a break from riding. After earning advanced degrees in marketing/public relations, Stacey spent 15 years traveling the world organizing and executing media events for companies like Anheuser-Busch and Disney. After moving to the Seattle area, she took up English riding and dabbled a bit in 3-day eventing before settling into hunter/jumpers. Joe, like many parents, didn’t become involved in the horse world until he and Stacey’s daughter, Zoe, began riding and competing. He now spends time cheering her and her little sister, Cora, on at shows throughout the Pacific Northwest.
The name “Smokey Wood” is in honor of Stacey’s first horse, a quarter horse/Morgan gelding whose barn name was Smokey, and her now-retired jumper Teddy, whose registered show name is Touch Wood.
